Denison Park

Course Rules

General Rules

Never throw a disc that might hit a person.

Many park visitors are unaware that disc golf is played in this park. They have no idea what “fore!” or “heads up!” means.

Out of Bounds (OB) - These rules apply to all holes unless otherwise specifically stated in the hole-by-hole rules below.

  • White Tees: All roads and parking lots are OB. A disc that lands on or crosses any road or parking lot is OB even if it comes to rest in grass on the opposite side.

  • A disc that leaves the park (over the green fence) or goes into a private yard is OB.

  • Any park structure is OB (pavilions, buildings, skatepark, etc).

  • All water is OB. Sidewalks are in bounds.

  • On holes 13-18 ONLY: If a disc is surrounded by mud so that a legal stance cannot safely be taken behind the disc, the lie may be moved directly back along the line of play to the first available area with stable footing, with no penalty stroke. (“Swampy’s ‘Stable Ground’ Rule”)

  • If a disc goes Out of Bounds (OB), take the next throw where the disc crossed into OB territory. Add one penalty throw and resume playing. A disc that crosses the green fence is OB. Walk around the fence to retrieve the disc.

  • Optional Re-throw: A player may opt to throw from their previous lie at any point during a hole and will incur a one throw penalty.

  • Handling an infraction: If an infraction is debatable, the benefit of the doubt goes to the thrower.

    • Be gracious, be generous, play with integrity.
